Well, after spending some time in Samara, I have to share this with you.
I never surfed before but I really wanted to try it.
In the local travel guide (revistadelsol.com)
I found the tip to go to Chocos surf school. It is affordable and the staff is really nice.
They are bilingual, so if your Spanish is not quite perfect yet it won't be a problem.
You can use the board for some while after taking classes at the school and they make sure you are able to stand up on the board in you first lessen.

My family just got back from Choco's Surf School and my kids are still talking about their surf lessons at Choco's Surf School. We found it right in front of Sheriffs Restaurant on the beach. Apparently it is one of the newer schools, but the owner, Choco, was one of the most friendly and professional people we met during our stay. He and the other surf instructors spoke English well and were friendly and patient explaining and teaching my kids (ages 7 and 10) the basics of surfing. Both of them got up on the first wave. I would highly recommend this school for anyone with young children. --WhiteSoxMom, Trip Advisor, February 3, 2009
